What is AEO / AI readiness?
Answer Engine Optimization is making sure AI answer engines (ChatGPT, Perplexity, Claude, Google AI Overviews) can crawl your site, read it, and lift a passage to cite. This tool scores how ready your site is across the six levers that actually drive citation.
Why does JavaScript rendering matter so much?
Because no major AI crawler except Google renders JavaScript. If your content only appears after client-side rendering, ChatGPT, Perplexity, Claude, Kimi and Bing see an empty page. It is the single biggest thing that keeps a site from being cited, so we score it highest.
Is a perfect 100 possible?
No, and that is deliberate. Off-page corroboration (being described consistently across trusted sites) is a real driver a single-page scan cannot measure, so the score tops out below 100. A well-built site lands around 75–85 — that is AI-ready.
Does llms.txt get you cited?
Not for search. Studies show AI search crawlers almost never fetch llms.txt, and Google says it does not support it. Its real value is developer experience for AI coding agents. We score it honestly and low, unlike tools that oversell it.
